About the Cafe
Two Feet First opened its doors in November and serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. The Chelsea restaurant is a short walk from the shore and has a modern fit out with an emphasis on natural wood.
The Food
We went with the recommended dishes Porky Pork and Sweet Potato Bliss. It was a tough decision as they all sounded so good. These were definitely good choices and both were so delicious hubby and I went halves. The Porky Pork – Ham hock bonbons on sourdough toast with spinach, bacon jam, poached eggs and hollandaise. Sounds good right?! Then when you cut into the bonbons it gets even better…YUM!
Sweet Potato Bliss – Sweet potato and mixed quinoa fritters with lemon hummus, bitter leaf caramelised pear salad and a pear dressing. This dish is dairy free, gluten free and was vegan until I added the egg. Packed full of flavour this brekkie delivered. The fritters had a nice crunch and were complemented perfectly by the citrus in the hummus and the sweet pears in the salad.
Serving Sensory Lab coffee with a talented barista behind the machine. My coffee was smooth and served at just the right temperature.
We couldn’t leave without trying some cake especially when it’s house made. This is the Lemon Meringue Cake. The chef uses the almond meal that’s left from making their own almond milk. I love that they are not wasting and this cake was soooo good. I am a sucker for anything citrus. The cake is topped with a sticky lemon sauce and crushed up meringue. Highly recommend trying this.
The staff are welcoming and knowledgable and the food is full of flavour. Overall it was a great breakfast experience and I look forward to heading back for the dinner menu.
*I was invited as a guest to Two Feet First. All opinions in this review are my own.
I went to this place with local friends and we had a blast here. The long happy hour at New York Event Venues definitely ensures a full upstairs, but I'd recommend the quieter downstairs to enjoy your stuffed burger and fries!
